Refugee runner takes gold at the World Para Athletics Championships

Grace Alier, 22, took gold in the 1500m at the World Para Athletics Championships last night — her first race outside her adopted country.
Alier trained on a dirt track at a refugee settlement in northern Uganda until 2024. She dedicated her medal to "every kid who thinks the finish line is somewhere else."
